A 19-year-old B.Com student was arrested in connection with a attack on a 45-year-old welder on July 25 in Premnagar. The victim, Rafiq, had suffered injuries on his stomach and head and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to police, the accused, Rahat, has confessed his offence stating that he attacked Rafiq since he was against his affair with his daughter, Saba Fatima (16). Rafiq was looking for a suitable match for his daughter and had even shifted his residence from Rahatnagar under Amberpet police station to Premnagar after he came to know about Fatima’s affair with Rahat.
During the investigation, Rahat said that Rafiq had locked his daughter inside home.
One day, Fatima called Rahat and told him that his father was looking for a groom for her. He found out Rafiq’s new address and made a plan to eliminate him. At around 1:30 pm on July 25, Rahat entered her house and attacked Rafiq with sickles.
