Chandigarh: Engineering students from Hyderabad died due to the negligence of Larji Dam authority, the Himachal Pradesh(HP) government has admitted before the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
The HP government filed a fresh report in the high court and confirmed the negligence on the part of Larji Dam authorities in the drowning and death of 25 tourists including 24 engineering students in Beas river at Mandi.
The state government stated before the high court that the dam authority had ignored all norms while discharging the heavy flow of water downstream in the Beas River.
The divisional commissioner's report has also accused the Mandi administration for deliberately delaying the rescue operation after the incident, resulting the heavy casualty in the incident. Earlier court had trashed the status report submitted by the state government on 16th June, in which state concealed all the facts of this incident.
