BANGALORE: KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar called upon the Congress workers to get ready to fight against the corruption of the state government. “Karnataka’s self respect has suffered damage due to the corruption of the first-ever BJP government. The Congress has an the responsibility to create awareness among the people about the need to bring Congress back to power,” Parameshwar addressed party workers on the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of late prime minister Indira Gandhi here on Saturday. Claimining that the people are already disillusioned and regretting for bringing the BJP to power, the KPCC chief said that the Congress workers must tap their anger and resentment towards the party to make them feel that the Congress is the viable alternative. “Our biggest strength is our reach and spread in all sections of the society besides the credit for building the nation after independence under the able leadership of Nehru and Indira. This positive aspect needs to be told to the people apart from the failures of the BJP government,” Parameshwar said. Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa, Leader of the Opposition in both the houses of Legislature Siddaramaiah and C Motamma too were present on the occasion.
