In a shocking incident from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, a three-year old girl’s body was found inside a suitcase on Saturday. Police investigation revealed that she was killed, stuffed inside a suitcase and thrown into a bush by her mother who had an extramarital affair and was planning to leave her husband.
The accused, Kajal who has been arrested said that her boyfriend with whom she had the affair did not want her daughter to accompany her and thereby she slit her child’s throat and killed her. She further informed the police that she planned her daughter’s murder after watching the popular TV show, Crime Patrol.
During the investigation, a forensic team was called in who scanned the child’s home and found traces of blood on the floor, terrace and also in the sink. It was also found that the child’s mother was missing and as per the father, Manoj she had called him on the day of the incident and informed him that she was going to her aunt’s place.
A police complaint was filed by Kajal’s husband against his wife Kajal and an FIR was registered. After tracking Kajal’s phone location and conducting raids, she was found at her boyfriend’s house.
During police questioning, Kajal revealed that she was involved in an extramarital relationship for the last two years and wanted to move in with her boyfriend. While speaking to NDTV, city police chief Awadhesh Dixit said, “She wanted to take her daughter along, but the boyfriend did not want this. The woman was confused. Eventually, she slit her daughter’s throat with a knife. She then stuffed the body in a red trolley bag and dumped it in the bushes next to their home.”
Police also revealed that the woman had tried to clean up the blood spots in the room and terrace, however the forensic team still managed to find traces of blood. The murder weapon has also been recovered by the cops.
Dixit further informed that she committed the murder alone. “She has said that she used to watch Crime Patrol and got the idea to kill her daughter and stuff the body in a suitcase from some episodes of the TV show,” the city police chief added.
On being asked if any role of the woman’s boyfriend was found in the murder or not, the officer said, “We have found anything suggesting the boyfriend’s role in the killing, so we have not detained him. She has also said she committed the crime after being influenced by Crime Patrol and that her boyfriend did not tell her about doing it.”
