Bangalore Bangalore police have seized a cache of explosives following the arrest of two more Lashkar-e-Taiba militants.
Afsar Pasha and Mohammad Irfan were arrested by Bangalore police from Punganur near Madanapalli in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
The latest arrests took the number of persons taken into custody in connection with the December 28 attack in the Indian Institute of Science campus in Bangalore to four. Abdul Rehman of Nalgonda in Andhra Pradesh and Mehaboob Ibrahim of Guledagudda in Karnataka are already in police custody.
On the information given by Pasha and Irfan, police said that they recovered 17 electrical detonators, 20 gelatine sticks, 120 gel sticks, three hand grenades and 114 iron pellets from a place near Chintamani in Kolar district of Karnataka.
Police said Pasha, a 28-year-old resident of Chintamani, is a close associate of Rehman and had been to Saudi Arabia and got in touch with Rehman there. Pasha, who was staying in Bangalore for the last two months working as a radiator mechanic, had also undergone terrorist training in Bangladesh including training in arms and explosives for about eight months in 2002-03.
