Bomb hoax at shopping mall in Marine Drive

KOCHI: Bomb hoax caused panic at the Pioneer Tower, a shopping mall located in the Marine drive on Friday. Two incidents of fake bomb calls made to shops in the mall. In the morning, the bomb squad and Police dog squad arrived for inspection after a watch shop in the Pioneer tower received an anonymous call warning about a bomb ready to burst.The caller also informed that similar bombs are planted in Mumbai and Delhi. After  an hour-long search on the premises, nothing could be found from the area.“An anonymous person made a fake call  to a watch shop at 9.55 am informing about a bomb inside the shopping mall. The informant also said that similar bombs are planted in Mumbai and Delhi also. The shop was evacuated immediately.  The entire mall was completely checked by the dog squad but nothing could be found, “ Central Police station Circle Inspector Suneesh Babu said.Later in afternoon, a similar anonymous call was made to a leather shop in the Pioneer Tower. Again, the bomb squad and dog squad rushed into the scene and but nothing could be found.The police have started to trace the number with the help of cyber cell and catch hold of the fake caller.
