B'wood spice is what's hot in Germany

New Delhi: Bollywood spice is not just hot in India, Germany seems to love the taste of it as well.

And it looks like the three recently-launched Bollywood magazines in the country were not enough, so now there’s a whole new news agency to catch the latest in the film industry.

Make way for BNA-Germany, which should be able to easily cash in on growing popularity of Indian culture, food and Bollywood in the country.

But what really got the Germans hooked on to Bollywood? With the extremely positive reaction to Yash Chopra's cross-border romance Veer Zaara, starring Shah Rukh, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji that was screened as a part of 55th Berlinale Film Festival, it made sense to give Germans what they seemed to fancy, in their own language.

Not only are the other Bollywood magazines available in the country only in English, they are expensive too.

The recently-launched Bollywood magazines in Germany, of course, knew what would sizzle the most on the first-issue covers.

So it was no surprise that both, Indien-Magazin and Bollywood Rapid Eye Magazin made sure that King Khan was really did look king-size on the covers.

In it’s debut issue, bi-monthly Indien-Magazin was bang on with reports on Toy Train of Darjeeling and Darjeeling Tea, Farhan Akhtar's much-awaited film Don, Aishwarya Rai starrer Umrao Jaan, Indian cuisine and Bollywood shows in Germany.

And all that jazz didn’t go waste since fans had booked their copies a week in advance and publishers registered a big sale.

Another bi-monthly, ISHQ was launched with articles covering not just films and reviews, but included fashion, beauty and the like.

While Bollywood Rapid Eye Magazin is already available in Austria and Switzerland as well, Indien-Magazin might also soon take the road to Switzerland.
