Vancouver (British Columbia): A Canadian was killed and two other Canadians were injured in the attacks in Mumbai that claimed at least 125 lives, Canada said on Friday.
Canadian foreign affairs officials in Ottawa announced the fatality, but provided no other details because of privacy laws.
"The family of the victim has been notified and consular officials are providing full assistance," Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said in a brief statement.
The wounded included a man who was hospitalised with gunshot wounds and a woman who was released from the hospital, officials said.
The wounded, a Montreal man and Toronto-area woman, were part of a meditation programme run by the Synchronicity Foundation and shot when gunmen attacked the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, according to the US-based organisation.
Police said at least six foreigners were killed and 315 people were wounded in the attacks.
An unknown group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Canadian foreign affairs officials said they could not confirm media reports that six Canadians had been taken hostage in Mumbai.
