HYDERABAD: The CBI on Tuesday sought permission from the special court to interrogate suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi and former director of mines and geology department VD Rajgopal in connection with Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's illegal assets case.The agency has sought permission for examining them at the Chanchalguda jail, on the ground that it had collected some documents from the mines and geology department, which had been processed by the two officers.The two were arrested in the illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy last year, on the charge of abusing the official position and favouring the company. At present, both are in judicial custody, and lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison.The CBI on Tuesday filed a fresh petition seeking permission to interrogate Srilakshmi and Rajgopal in the jail premises. The court posted the hearing on the petition to February 16.Vijay Sai remand extendedThe Special CBI Court on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of V Vijay Sai Reddy, the key accused in Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's alleged illegal assets case, to February 21.With Reddy's remand having come to an end on Tuesday, the jail authorities produced the accused before the special CBI court magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma. The court extended the judicial remand to Reddy till February 21.
