CBI special director arrives in City

HYDERABAD : Issues pertaining to the illegal detention and alleged torture of Muslim youth by the Hyderabad police soon after the bomb blast in Mecca Masjid, is reported to have figured during the meeting between Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan and special director (CBI) Balwinder Singh.Balwinder Singh, who was the then Hyderabad police commissioner when the blast took place, met AK Khan at his office in Basheerbagh on Friday.He spent over an hour with Khan.Informed sources told Express that Balwinder Singh reportedly enquired about the report of the National Commission for Minorities which had given certain recommendations to the state government, regarding the illegal detention and alleged torture of Muslim youth.
