HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress Steering Committee (TCSC) has decided to intensify its stir for Telangana state in view of the Parliament winter session beginning on November 23. A meeting held at panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy’s residence here on Sunday also decided to hold its extended meeting very soon to finalise the action plan.Though they did not come to a conclusion on the shape of action, they asserted that all of them were united. The participants, who included ministers Basavaraju Saraiah and D Sridhar Babu, MPs K Keshava Rao, Ponnam Parabhakar, Gutta Sukhendar Reddy and Balaram Naik, discussed the political situation in the state and related developments in Delhi.They also shared their views on AICC general secretary Gulam Nabhi Azad’s statement ruling out a time-frame to settle the Telangana issue. Speaking to reporters later, Sukhendar Reddy said the Parliament session would begin on November 23 and Telangana Congress leaders would intensify lobbying in Delhi to achieve their goal. He claimed that Telangana Congress leaders and workers were actively taking part the separate state movement and the success of rail roko was proof of it. Prabhakar took strong objection to the state government’s finalisation of the Polavaram project tenders.“Telangana people strongly oppose the project and if the government is not ready to change the project design, they will agitate at all levels,’’ he said.Balaram Naik too demanded a change in the design of the Polavaram project.
