Chelimela LI scheme to be ready soon

KURNOOL: Minister for minor irrigation TG Venkatesh said lift irrigation schemes were being constructed with a view to provide irrigation facility to 50,000 acres in Kurnool district in the next two years.Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone for Chelimella lift irrigation scheme along with law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy on Friday, he said the `35 crore Chelimella lift irrigation scheme will be completed within nine months. On completion, the scheme will provide irrigation facility to about 4,500 acres.Nandyal MP SPY Reddy, Nandikotkur MLA L Venkataswamy and district collector Ramshankar Naik were among those present.
