Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said senior Congress leader P Chidambaram's "certificate of incompetence" to the state government led by him was "ironic".
"I would have been offended if my certificate of incompetence had come from anyone else, but from a UPA 2 minister, it is ironic to say the least," Omar wrote on Twitter.
His reaction came after Chidambaram's reported remarks at a book launch function in New Delhi yesterday.
"We had a young man (Omar Abdullah) with good intention but his was not a competent government," Chidambaram was reported to have said at the function.
Chidamabaram was Union Minister in the Congress-led UPA government. Omar's National Conference was an alliance partner in the UPA-II at the Centre in 2009-14, while Congress-NC had formed a coalition government headed by the young leader in Jammu and Kashmir.
