CM to allocate portfolios soon

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar is expected to effect reallocation of portfolios soon to meet the demand of dissidents for plum posts.

The dissidents though demanding a full-pledged reshuffling of portfolios with an eye on the key departments presently held by Yeddyurappa camp, the CM and the party high command is said to be in favour of minor reshuffling.

Deputy Chief Ministers K S Eshwarappa and R Ashok who are holding two portfolios each may have to lose one each to ministers Balachandra Jarakiholi and Govind Karjol. Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s supporter B J Puttaswamy may also lose his portfolio and get the one of less importance.

In-charge of Karnataka BJP Dharmendra Pradhan after holding consultations with the state leaders left for  Delhi on Sunday evening.

He is expected to submit a report to the BJP national president Nitin Gadkari who in turn will take a final call on the reshuffling of portfolios.

Pradhan during his two-day visit has also elicited the views of  state leaders on who should replace Eshwarappa as the state unit president. Though the names of MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and Prahlad Joshi are doing rounds and the RSS is said to be backing both of them, Yeddyurappa has thrown his hat in the ring by making his supporters to do the talking in his favour.

The ministers who are supporting Yeddyurappa are likely to lead a delegation to Delhi anytime soon to demand state party president post for Yeddyurappa.
