Coal-laden truck plunges into river, one dies

JHARSUGUDA: A coal-laden 10-wheeler fell off the bridge over the river Ib on Jharsuguda-Brajrajnagar road on Saturday  killing driver of the vehicle on the spot.The deceased has been identified as Abdesh Rai (25) of Gwalapada in Brajrajnagar and his body was pulled out of the truck on Sunday. Reports said that coal was loaded at the Samaleswari Open Cast Project and the vehicle was on its way to Jharsuguda when the accident took place. Police have registered a case.
