Legal experts are raising questions over the argument put forth by the ministers, who had called on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday, that they cannot be held guilty of paving the way for quid pro quo benefits to Jagan Mohan Reddy because they did not gain anything themselves.
This is no different from the line that Jagan Mohan Reddy has adopted: “How I can be blamed for decisions taken by the government when I was not even a member of the government?” he has repeatedly stated to the CBI.
If those who were part of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s Council of ministers cannot be questioned for decisions taken collectively, can someone who was not a part be made accountable? is the obvious point that Jagan loyalists are already planning to raise both legally and otherwise.
“Having blamed Jagan Mohan Reddy all these days, are the ministers unwittingly or consciously playing into his hands,” a Congressman said.
