HYDERABAD: Describing the Congress and YSR Congress as ‘ideologically- friendly’ parties, the state BJP says the two parties have better understanding on several issues and even predicts that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party will merge with the Congress shortly.BJP spokesman NVSS Prabhakar told reporters here on Tuesday that after the YSR death anniversary on September 2 all the 29 MLAs of the Congress would withdraw their resignations and extend their full support to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. This can be understood from their statements that their resignations were not aimed at toppling the government and their lack of interest to build pressure on the Assembly speaker for acceptance of their resignations.Whoever had left the Congress went back to it or became its associates, he said and added that the history of the Congress was replete with such instances in the country. Citing several recent instances of Congress-YSRC understanding on several issues, Prabhakar said YSRC supporters Sabbam Hari and Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy supported the Congress in Parliament and voted in support of the government on price hike.Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao is organising YSR’s second death anniversary in Hyderabad and Delhi. After these programmes several developments would take place in the Congress that would lead to YSRC’s merger with the Congress, the BJP leader said.He alleged that the Congress and several non-Congress parties like the TDP and YSRC had similar opinions on corruption and state’s bifurcation.``TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu sought Jagan supporters’ support in the Assembly while the CPM indirectly supported YS Jagan in the Kadapa by-election.The TDP chief strongly opposes the Congress but his party’s Telangana leaders met Congress leader and minister K Jana Reddy on the Telangana issue. All these indicates that all non-BJP parties take the same line on several issues,’’ Prabhakar said.
