BANGALORE: The city police are preparing to take the custody of the suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) militants, who were arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the Chinnaswamy stadium bomb blast case. Meanwhile, investigations revealed that the arrested persons had camped in at Tumkur, a month prior to the blast and executed the blast in cooperation with their men in the city. The blasts were carried out with the sole motive of ‘terrorising the people’.Mohammad Qatheel Siddiqui alias Saajan alias Shezad Saleem alias Saleem alias Javid alias Vivek Sharma, 27, of Bara Samela village of Darbang district in Bihar and Ghayur Ahmad Jamali, 21, of Madubani district in Bihar were arrested by the Delhi police for their alleged involvement in Chinnaswamy stadium twin blasts that was reported on April 17, 2010.At a press conference held on Wednesday, the city Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji informed that a city police team had interacted with the Delhi police. “The special squad which has reached Delhi, questioned the accused duo in connection with the blasts and collected crucial information about the blasts. There are several others, both from Karnataka and other states involved in the conspiracy. Efforts are on to nab the other accused,” he said. Not ruling out the possibility of the involvement of Yasin Bhatkal in the case, an IM leader, Mirji said that even Yasin had visited the accused duo in Tumkur. Speaking about the modus operandi, Mirji said, “The duo had rented a house in Tumkur just a month before the blasts. They had assembled the bombs in that house itself. Clues indicate that Yasin had visited them during their stay in Tumkur. On April 16 night, a day before the blasts, the duo came to the city and planted the bombs. The same night they left the state and went absconding. They used public transport to commute here in the city.” “It is evident that other terrorists across the country had helped them and investigations are on to nab them. Meanwhile, we are yet to know the person who rented the house for the duo in Tumkur. We will take action against him if he is not innocent about the plot,” Mirji added. He also informed that the duo will be brought to the city soon.
