KOZHIKODE: The draft political and organisational report to be presented in the 20th party congress has been leaked. In the draft, there has been serious criticism against the leadership targeting certain leaders. It is under the section — State of Democratic centralism — that the draft report criticises the leadership of certain state units.The draft report points out that certain leaders were taking decisions based on their likes and dislikes. It is against the spirit of democratic centralism, says the draft report. It has been pointed out in the report that fearing vindictive action from the leadership, the party cadre are afraid of questioning these leaders.The draft report also observes that the party state units had failed to implement the rectification campaign in an effective manner. Several leaders as well as party cadre have been found with moral turpitude. Alcoholism, drug abuse, illicit sexual relationships and undesirable activities like of cyber crimes, generally associated with bourgeoisie societies, have been noticed among the party leaders as well as the cadre. Several of its leaders and the cadre are indulging in corruption and amassment of wealth. The draft report will come for discussion and ratification on Friday.Meanwhile, party general secretary Prakash Karat presented the draft political resolution on the first day of the conference. The 63-page document dwells on national and international issues.The resolution has mentioned the growth of identity politics based on caste, religion, tribe and ethnicity which is posing a major challenge for Left politics in the country.
