Crying and emotional outburst strict 'No' in courtroom: SC
The remarks were made during the brief hearing of a matter when a woman appearing in person started crying while arguing her case.

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Monday warned litigants appearing in person against displaying emotions in the courtroom saying such outbursts would not help in changing the minds of judges.

"By crying in the courtroom, we are not going to be moved. No, we are not," a bench comprising Chief Justice HL Dattu and AK Sikri said.

"We are giving you opportunity to argue does not mean that you make it (courtroom) your home. We cannot change our thinking by your emotions," the bench said.

The remarks were made during the brief hearing of a matter when a woman appearing in person started crying while arguing her case.

An advocate sitting besides her said she was a lawyer from West Bengal and there was a need to provide police protection to her.
