Dalit girl raped by her neighbou in Ballia

A 20-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Narhi police station area in Ballia, police said on Saturday.

The accused, living in the girl's neighbourhood, called her on Friday under the pretext of going to a wedding ceremony, following which he raped her, KC Goswami, Additional Superintendent of Police said.

An FIR has been lodged by the victim's brother and the accused has been arrested, the ASP said.
