THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The allegation of leaking out vital information by the Chief Minister’s office to the media on a few issues in which the CPM, particularly controversial MLA T V Rajesh, is involved came in for sharp criticism by the Opposition in the Assembly on Friday, forcing Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to admit that there was indeed a leak. But he said precautions will be taken for preventing it in future.Opposition Deputy Leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan  raised the issue and insisted  that fabricated documents to tarnish the image of Rajesh were circulated to the media at the instance of the CM’s office. He also demanded that the Press Secretary of the Chief Minister should be sacked on this count. Without yielding to the demand or committing anything on the veracity of the documents in question, Chandy said that he would ensure that such instances didn’t occur again.Meanwhile, the report of DGP Jacob Punnoose submitted to the government on the complaint of Rajesh against the Venjaramood police on the issue of indecent behaviour and disrespect to him  maintained that the points raised by the MLA are not true and that cops had not misbehaved with him.  The report was filed by ADGP Venugopal K Nair. The news leak was based on many false imputations, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged.  T V Rajesh also wrote to Oommen Chandy levelling allegations that the Chief Minister’s office was persistently playing foul games against him, fabricating  many news items and leaking them  to the media so as to corner him.
