GUNTUR: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the government would take an appropriate decision on the sand mining issue soon after the court gives its verdict. Speaking to newsmen at the helipad in Macherla on Sunday before leaving for Hyderabad after completion of his byelection campaign in Prattipadu and Macherla constituencies, he admitted that there was a crisis in the construction field in the wake of prohibition on sand mining in the state.The chief minister said: “several political parties, workers’ unions and builders’ associations across the state requested me to take immediate action on the issue. But, the government was waiting for the verdict of the court,’’ Kiran Reddy said.Meanwhile, the chief minister asked the party cadre to carry out vigorous campaign so as to make them know that the bypolls were forced on them by the selfish motive of one individual. The chief minister exuded confidence that the Congress would definitely win Prattipadu and Macherla seats.
