New Delhi: A 30-year-old man, wanted in an attempt to murder case and carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head, has been arrested from Northwest Delhi's Bawana area, police said on Wednesday.

Paramjeet, said to be a member of Vikas Lagarpuria gang and a native of Jhajjar in Haryana, has been absconding for last nine months, police said.

He was arrested when he came to meet an accomplice near Hanuman temple in Bawana on November 22, they said.

"Bijender Singh, a resident of Najafgarh had lodged a complaint on February 23, stating that he along with his brother Prem Singh and other friends were playing cards in a vacant plot when the accused had approached them introducing himself as Vikas Lagarpuria, asking about him," police said.

"When confronted with Singh, the accused whipped out a pistol and fired twice at Singh, but that missed him," said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell.

Singh raised an alarm following which the accused ran towards the road where his another accomplice Dheerpal Kana were waiting. Both then got into a vehicle and fled the spot.

"Investigations have revealed that both Vikas Lagarpuria and Dheerpal Kana were having a dispute with Singh over a plot. In order to grab the plot they hatched a conspiracy to kill Singh," said Yadav adding further probe is on.
