BANGALORE: With more than 350 stalls of dental products on display, ‘Expodent 2011’ organised by Association of Dental Industry and Trade of India was inaugurated here on Friday. The exhibition aimed at creating awareness on new products and technologies available in the industry.This would benefit entire dental fraternity including surgeons, doctors, students, hygienists, and laboratory technicians.Speaking about the main attraction of the exhibition, CAD and CAM system (Computer- Aided Design and (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), Dr Subhaschandra Shetty, organising secretary of the exhibition said, “This German technology is used to produce different types of dental restorations including crowns, crownlays, veneers, inlays and onlays, fixed bridges and dental implant restorations.”There were very few dental hospitals which use the system, he added. More than 10,000 visitors from all across South India are expected to come to the exhibition, which is on till October 16 at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds.
