KOCHI: ‘Crime’ magazine chief editor T P Nandakumar has filed a petition before the High Court seeking action against Director General of Police Jacob Punnoose, for not taking legal action against expelled CPM leader P Sasi on charges of sexual harassment.Sasi was expelled from the CPM after he was found guilty in an internal inquiry conducted by the party. The CPM secretariat had to take strict action as there were strong evidence against Sasi, who is known to be a close aide of CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Nandakumar alleged in the petition. It is alleged in the petition that Jacob Punnoose had filed a false affidavit before the Supreme Court in the controversial ice cream case to save P K Kunhalikutty at the instance of Sasi, the political secretary of the then C M, E K Nayanar and that is why the DGP is hesitant to take action against Sasi, Nandakumar alleged. He had approached the High Court seeking the same relief. But the petition was dismissed with a direction to approach the court.
