JAJPUR: Two persons were arrested on Sunday by Dharmasala police for illegally stocking explosives in their houses in Jajpur district.They were produced in JMFC at Chandikhole which remanded them in judicial custody after rejecting their bail applications.The explosives include 450 kg of ammonium nitrate, 450 live detonators, 200 gelatin sticks and other explosive materials. They have been identified as Rabindra Kumar Parida (42), a resident of Jogada village under Dharmasala police limits, and Akshaya Kumar Sahu (29) of Ramachandrapur village under Jenapur police station limits.On a tip off, police first raided the house of Parida and arrested him with the explosives. Following information provided by Parida during interrogation, the cops nabbed Sahu. Police said Parida used to procure explosives from Sahu and would sell them outside the district. Both were doing the business illegally as neither of them had the licence for dealing with explosives. The cops added that the explosives were mostly used for illegal mining and quarrying.Dharmasala IIC Suvendu Kumar Sinha said investigation was on and the cops were trying to establish other links of Parida and Sahu. The seized explosives have been kept in police armoury.
