Mumbai: Farah Khan, who is a common friend of Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, wants to play the peacemaker between the two actors.
The choreographer-turned-director, believes that the fight between the actors is getting longer. "I wish I could bridge the gap. I love both of them. It's (the fight) getting longer now," Farah told PTI.
Farah, who has turned a chat-show host with Tere Mere Beach Mein had Salman Khan and his mother as her first celebrity guests while she is planning to bring Shah Rukh in the final episode.
"Since Salman had never come on a chat show before and was very candid during the show, we made him the first guest. But Shahrukh will be the last one to keep the audience hooked till the end," she says.
The two Khans of Bollywood have not been on talking terms since last year, with both taking regular digs at each other in public, after a fight at the birthday party of Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh owned Red Chillies is one of the producers of the show. Salman and Shah Rukh shared friendly relations in the industry and they even starred together in the 1995 hit movie Karan Arjun.
More recently, in 2007 Salman had made a special appearance for a song in the Farah Khan directed SRK-starrer Om Shanti Om.
Farah shares a good rapport with Salman and has even choreographed a song for the actor in his upcoming Mr and Mrs Khanna.
Refusing to be drawn into comparisons with Karan Johar's popular chat show Koffee with Karan, she said she is not trying to give Johar a competition.
"I would never try to compete with Karan because I know that I will always lose. He is a very good friend and even came on my show," says Farah, who debuted as a director with the blockbuster Main Hoon Na in 2004.
Farah started her stint as a choreographer with the song Pehla Nasha for Aamir Khan starrer Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar in (1992) and the song was a huge hit.
She has choreographed prominent numbers in films like Dil To Pagal Hai, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Dil Chahta Hai, Krrish and Dostana among others.
When asked what made her play host on television after playing judges in a number of reality shows, Khan said she wanted to do something new and different this time.
"This show also has a social relevance. Watching this show will be inspiring. They will understand that film stars are just like all of us and they also have the same problems as ours. Audience will also learn how celebs have handled their problems," she explained.
It was in her show that Salman Khan's mother Salma Khan gave her first interview while popular actor and heartthrob Hrithik Roshan reportedly admitted for the first time that he had a stammering problem in his childhood.
"Most of my guests are my friends, so they are comfortable talking to me. The trust factor also works as we are doing the show for good reasons and not to show someone in bad light," she said adding that many filmstars got emotional to the extent of crying on the show.
