Final hearing of Singur land allocation case in SC today
The Calcutta High Court had earlier dismissed the company's plea- Tata has said it is keen on returning to the state with the next phase of expansion of the Nano project.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Wednesday hold the final hearing in the case related to the land allocated for the Nano plant. Tata Motors had moved the Supreme Court seeking an order to restrain the West Bengal government from taking back and distributing land to farmers earlier allocated by the previous government for the Nano car project in Singur.

The Calcutta High Court had earlier dismissed the company's plea- Tata has said it is keen on returning to the state with the next phase of expansion of the Nano project.

When the company failed to get any relief from the Calcutta High Court, it challenged the Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Act passed by the Mamata Banerjee government.

997 acres of land was earlier allotted to Tata Motors by the Left Front government at Singur in West Bengal.
