Food poisoning: Nine girls hospitalised

Just hours after four youths were hospitalised for food poisoning after consuming biriyani from a hotel, similar incident was reported from the city.

This time, nine girls studying in the Women’s College suffered food poisoning after eating beef fry, parotta and curry purchased from ‘Mothers’ Kitchen’ Hotel at Bakery Junction. The incident occurred on Sunday evening. The girls, staying in a women’s hostel, had bought the food from the hotel. Some of the girls started vomiting immediately after having the food. Others also complained of nausea and tiredness. The girls were immediately taken to the General Hospital. The condition of the girls was said to be stable.
