PUDUCHERRY: The Central Government has sent the Foreign Education Providers (Regulation) Bill for vetting to the Law Ministry and it would be introduced in parliament at the earliest, said Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari on Saturday. She said the aim of the Bill was to enable students to access education provided by overseas universities and allow institutions in the country that properly follow the norms of the governing bodies, such as AICTE, to have partnerships with them. Criticising the opposition parties for stalling historic reforms in the education sector, she said 14 important Bills of her ministry were pending before parliament and were unable to get passed due to non-cooperation of the parties. She said that the ministry was also planning to come out with a National Accreditation Bill that would make accreditation compulsory and ensure quality.
