The Task Force police arrested four persons who were trying to sell fake diamonds to innocent customers at Classic Service Centre in Chintalbasti in Khairatabad on Sunday, and seized one fake diamond, a diamond-grade certificate and five mobile phones from them. The accused are Muniganti Satish Kumar (24), Yaprala Kiran Kumar (29), Pasam Rajesh (35) and Rajesh Singh (32).
Satish hails from Adialabad and had lived in Khairathabad till 2010 when he returned to his native place. As he faced financial problems, he discussed them with his friend Neelesh, a resident of Adilabad town. Neelesh gave him a fake diamond, asked to sell it for Rs 20 lakh and promised him a commission of Rs 3 lakh.
Satish then contacted Kiran and sought his help to sell the fake diamond and promised to give him Rs 1.5 lakh. Kiran contacted Rajesh and Singh, explained the plan and promised to pay them Rs 1 lakh each. While they were trying to sell it, the Task Force team sent a decoy team and apprehended them.
