Ganja worth Rs 1 lakh seized, 3 arrested

HYDERABAD: The Madhapur police on Tuesday arrested three persons and seized 900 grams of ganja worth about Rs 1 lakh from them.Following a tip-off, the police raided the residence of Dileep Rao at Patrika Nagar and seized a few packets of ganja from him. During interrogation, Dileep admitted that he was procuring ganja from Saleem Khan and Sarma of Dhoolpet.Saleem and Sarma were also arrested and 110 ganja sachets were seized from them. The duo also confessed that they were procuring ganja from Warangal. A case was registered against the trio under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.In another case, Madhapur police arrested 22-year-old Vinoda, a maid, and recovered gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh from her.
