From the Indian villages, here comes yet another movie talking about the inadequate health care facilties in the rural livelihood of the country.'Gantala Bandi', a movie shorlitsed for the Children’s World category of the festival, talks about Narayanpuram, a remote village without any medical and educational families.People from the village have to travel 40 km to attend to their medical needs and for all this they have to depend on a single cart, which is the Gantala Bandi.Three children aim to become doctors and wish to support their village.One of the children Pavani, is an 8th class student from Nalanda High School in the city.Apart from three movies in Tollywood, she has also acted in a few Telugu daily soaps. Talking about her role in the movie, she says, “I play the role of a girl Vyshali in the movie. She wants to study hard and become a doctor to solve the problems being faced by her village.”Juggling between academics and films, Pavani says life is fun as she had alwyas loved acting. “I love Kaajal Aggarwal. She is my favourite actress.”Another actor in the movie is Ram Jagan, another popular Telugu actor.Talking about his role in the movie, he says, “I play the role of a tantrik in the movie, who treat people with herbs and cheats them for extra money. But by the end of the movie he becomes a nice person.”On the inspirationg behind choosing the script, he says, “I always beleived that we need to make our rural health much more stronger and equipped.”
