MADURAI: A student of an engineering college here, who was allegedly molested by a police officer at the Tiruchy central bus stand has filed a petition before the Madurai Bench of the High Court on Friday, seeking to withdraw the order of the court, directing her to undergo a medical examination.The student, who is a native of Ramanathapuram district, in her petition, had stated that her friend’s brother Jeyavardhanan had lodged a police complaint with the Cantonment police station over the matter.The complaint had alleged that she was molested by a police officer while she was waiting for a bus at the central bus stand in Tiruchy on June 27 this year. She had also made a statement to the magistrate under Section 163 and the final report had been filed.The incident was also reported in the weekly magazines, she said.The student had said that RA Alex, a social activist and lawyer, had filed a public interest litigation and the court had directed that she be examined medically in the presence of the Dean of the Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital on August 30.She had also said that the lawyer had not consulted her and the order for medical examination had been issued without seeking her views on the matter. The petitioner said that she was not prepared to undergo the medical examination as directed.There was no truth in the reports regarding the case and had pleaded that she be impleaded as a party to the case.
