KADAPA: In a setback to endowments minister C Ramachandraiah, the Rajampet first class judicial magistrate Wednesday rejected the government's order withdrawing the cases against him.
At the hearing of the case, for which the minister attended, assistant public prosecutor Balaji submitted a copy of the GO to the court. But magistrate Sairam set it aside and posted the case for hearing on February 28. Police had filed a criminal case against the miniater in 2006 on the charges of obstructing officials from discharging duties and damaging public properties. The minister, the then a TDP MP, went to Rajampet to console the kin of 10 people who died during demolition of houses undertaken by the R B department. Ramachandraiah blamed the officials for the deaths, which led to an altercation between him and the police.
