leaders who came to enquire about the attack on mediaperson..
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president V Muralidharan said that BJP
leaders who came to enquire about the attack on mediapersons at LMS
compound here the other day, were listed as accused in a case alleging
that they had unleashed violence at the CSI Bishop’s House to create
communal tension in the state. He told reporters here on Saturday that
the government’s attempt was to divert attention from the attack on
mediapersons. He pointed out that many leaders from both the ruling
and Opposition parties had arrived at the scene of the attack on
mediapersons by police and miscreants near the CSI Bishop’s House.
However, the police have included only the BJP leaders as accused in
the case. He said the state council meeting of the party had
discussed the UDF Government’s tilt towards the minorities even from the
initial days of its rule. The state budget did not focus on the
development of the state. Instead it favoured Kerala Congress pockets
and Muslim League strongholds for implementing the projects. He
said the state council meeting was of the view that the budget proposal
to permit five percent of the plantations to be used for tourism
purposes would lead to large-scale conversion of plantation land. It
would benefit only the estate owners. It would also lead to the
sabotaging of the Land Reforms Act. The move is also against the spirit
of land reforms, he said.He said that the BJP would organise
agitations against corruption and price rise ahead of the Parliament
march planned by Yuva Morcha scheduled on August 9. Bharathiya Mahila
Morcha would lead the campaign against rising atrocities against women.
Agitations will be strengthened against the policies of self-financing
college managements, he said.He said the government was not sincere
in its efforts to evict the encorachers from Munnar and Orange farm at
Nelliyamapathy. Large-scale encroachment was taking place in
Marthandam Kayal under the leadership of an MLA in Kuttanad, he alleged.
