Thackeray on Thursday alleged that the Maharashtra government cannot combat "Islamic terrorists" as it is appeasing minorities.

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, on Thursday, alleged that the Maharashtra government cannot combat "Islamic terrorists" as it is appeasing minorities.

"This government is not capable of protecting Maharashtra because those whose politics is based on appeasing minorities, cannot defeat terrorists," Thackeray, editor of the Sena mouthpiece Saamna, said in an editorial in the paper's issue.

"The roots of the blasts may be in Pakistan and Bangladesh but the hands which feed these terrorists are in Mumbai," he said, adding that "the terrorists have dens in mini-Pakistan in Mumbai".

"The much-touted restraint and resilience of Mumbaikars after such blasts is born out of frustration. When one cannot do anything, one maintains restraint," he added.

"Hindu blood spills over during riots and blasts. Of what use is this blood if living as a Hindu has become a crime in this country?," questioned the Sena chief.
