The A.P. Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., (A.P. State Govt. Undertaking) is organizing Lepakshi Handicrafts Exhibition cum Sale through Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium.
Handicrafts on display include varieties of cotton and silks of Andhra Pradesh and other States such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar and Jharkhand.
About 75 master weavers/designers and manufactures will participate to exhibit their products and sell directly to customers. The main aim of the exhibition is to promote and create a market for handloom products.
Bengali silk, Kantha work, Tussar silk, Bandhani work, Bhagalpur silk, Banaras silk, Chanderi, Kutch embroidery, Maheshwari, Orissa silk, Kota sarees, Jharkhand silk, Kanchi, Gadwal, Venkatagiri, Narayanapet, Uppada, Mangalagiri, Kalakmari, Cheerala and Jamdani work will be available.
The exhibition will be open from 11 am to 9 pm everyday September 24 at ECIL Employees Housing Co-Operateive Society Grounds, Dr A S Rao Nagar, ECIL. For more details, contact 98499 00931.
Garvi Gurjari
The Gurjari Gujarat state handloom and handicrafts emporium, a unit of the Gujarat state Handloom and Handicrafts Development corporation Ltd, is organizing Garvi Gurjari, an exhibition of Gujarat’s traditional handicrafts and handloom products. Bandhini sarees, patchwork, ethenic block printed dress materials, cotton and silk sarees, hand block prints, kutch embroidery and patola sarees will be available.
Leather puppets, tribal craft, wood carving on sandalwood, ethnic furnitures, leather and art metal work will also be on display.
The exhibition cum sale is open on all days till September 24, from 10 am to 9:30 pm at Kama Kouta Koti Kalyanamandapam, Swarajya press compound, Padma Rao Nagar, Secunderabad.
