New Delhi: The title song from the upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiya may be topping the charts but it has now run into a bit of controversy.
A petition has been filed in a Mumbai court seeking removal of the song claiming it to be derogatory to Gautama Buddha.
Filed by an NGO against Censor Board of Film Certification chairperson and four others, the hearing of petition has been posted to October 6, reported UNI.
Lawyer Sushan Kunjuraman, who is representing the petitioner, said certain scenes in the video of the song hurt religious sentiments.
Eight partially-naked girls are shown dancing to the tunes of the title song with Hare Rama Hare Krishna inscribed on their sparse clothing, says the petition.
The song has the statue of Gautama Buddha in the background, which has angered the petitioners.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhool Bhulaiya is set to release on October 12. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Paresh Rawal and Amisha Patel.
