BANGALORE: Infosys Science Foundation hosted a live classroom on justice in India by Prof Michael J Sandel, Anne T and Robert M Bass from Harvard University on Monday. The panel aimed at creating awareness on ethical issues that people face in their daily lives. Titled, ‘Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do,’ the panelists addressed concerns regarding the ethics of modern day political philosophy.Professor Sandel presented various scenarios related to justice, and the need to focus on bringing in the right mix of utilitarian, collective and individualistic theories while making a judgment.  Professor Sandel’s lecture was part of Infosys Science Foundation Public Lectures by jurors and winners of the Infosys Prize. These lectures are aimed at informing people about different fields of research and studies in the sciences.Speaking on the occasion, N R Narayana Murthy, chairman emeritus, Infosys Limited and Trustee, Infosys Science Foundation, said, “It is an honour to have professor Sandel deliver these lectures and to extend his live classroom to India to engage in a discussion on justice and its implications in our daily lives.”Over 1,500 Infosys employees, educationists and students attended the lecture.
