HYDERABAD: Justice Ramesh Ranganathan of the High Court on Thursday granted time till Tuesday to the railway police to respond as to why they failed to take proper action on a criminal complaint lodged about an incident that occurred on the Bijapur passenger train. The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Moizuddin Mohammad Osman Lohari complaining that he and members of his family were travelling on the train to Bijapur when a group of unruly elements entered the compartment at Lingampally. They used abusive language unmindful of the presence of women and, when objected to, turned violent and attacked the petitioner and his family with sticks and knives. The railway police, instead of verifying and acting on the complaint, allowed the hooligans to go scot-free, he complained.

What's your reaction?
