KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday imposed a fine on two IAS officials who failed to comply with a court order regarding the transfer request of a food inspector.Justice S Sirijagan imposed the fine while considering a contempt petition filed by V N Asokan, food inspector, Thaliparamba circle, Kannur. He alleged that Kerala Medical Supplies Corporation managing director Biju Prabhakar IAS and Commissioner of Food Safety Kerala S Raveendran IAS delayed his transfer ignoring the court order. The court directed the officers to pay `2,500 each. The court had earlier directed the officials to consider Asokan’s transfer as there was a threat to his life from merchants. On June 16, the court had directed the authorities to consider the representation of the petitioner within two months.
