Every one of your guests should be kept satisfied and so keeping their tastes in mind is important.

New Delhi: Planning a party menu is what takes the most time. Every one of your guests should be kept satisfied and so keeping their tastes in mind is important.

But what if you don't know what makes your guests tick, and you have to go with your instincts? Should it be Chinese, Mexican or Continental fare, that you should be serving?

Well, whatever you choose to serve, make sure you put out good wine and cheese because it makes a great impression.

So, even if your guests prefer Mexican to Chinese, they will see the good taste and effort that has gone into buying the best for them.

So, lay out the wine and cheese but take some precautions in doing so:

  • Learn what is the right temperature for wine, what one should eat with different wines and what kind of glass should be used while serving wine.
  • It doesn't matter whether the wine served is red, white, or rose, but it does matter how the wine is stacked, and how it is served.
  • If the wines are not stocked in optimum temperature, then it can really spoil the taste of the wine. Mostly red wine is served with red meat and the white wine with white meat and fish.

Red wine doesn't require it to be chilled but white wine or the sparkling wine should be served chilled.

Strawberries go well with champagne and in the same way, cheese can be served with white wine.

Remember to serve wine in the right glasses.

White wines must be served in tulip-shaped glasses while red wine should be served in circular also called balloon glasses.

Champagne is served in champagne flutes.

Finally, how you hold a wine glass also enhances the taste of the wine besides showing people that you are up-to-date with the rules of etiquette!

So, hold a white wine and champagne glass by the flute or stem of the glass. While hold the upper portion of your red wine glass in a cupped position.

This will keep the wine at room temperature because your hands will transfer warmth to the drink through the glass.

What's your reaction?
