THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Railway Police on Sunday arrested a 25- year-old woman on charges of duping the passengers of Island Express train by posing as ticket examiner. The woman was identified as Omana alias Chandini of Mararikulam in Alappuzha. She was taken into custody along with her four-year old daughter. According to the Railway Police, Chandini disguised herself as the ticket examiner and checked the tickets of the passengers. She even levied fines on passengers who were travelling without a ticket. She was arrested after one of the passengers developed suspicions and informed the authorities. Following the arrest, the police found out that Chandini was mentally unstable. She was caught by the Railway police one day ago for travelling without ticket and handed over to the Mahila Mandiram, from where she managed to escape. She was produced before the court. The court sent her to the Mental Health Centre. The child is under the care of Child Welfare Council.
