Panaji: Superstar Rajinikanth was visibly overwhelmed when he was presented the Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year at the inaugural ceremony of the 45th edition of IFFI.

Rajinikanth, who has entertained fans for decades and made many ape his unique style of flipping glasses, rolling them multiple times, and cutting a bullet into pieces even with a blade, couldn't contain his emotions as he watched the most memorable sequences of his projects. The superstar has not only left an indelible impact on Indian cinema, but also inspired many to work laboriously and turn dreams into reality.

"I came here to receive the award, not make a speech. After Amitji's excellent speech I have words to speak. In the past, I got the opportunity to come to Goa for at least 5/6 times but I couldn't make it. But this time, I'm so fortunate to be here. I'm honoured to receive the prestigious award from the government of India. I'm grateful to them, and dedicate the award to all my film producers, directors, technicians and fans," he said.
