New Delhi: A team of students and alumni from Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) on Thursday left for Jammu with consignments of relief material to help the flood-affected people there.

IIMC's Director General Sunit Tandon flagged off a truck with the relief material at the institute's campus. The team will be assisted in their relief work by the current batch of students and alumni in IIMC's Jammu campus.

Ten centres were set up across the city 10 days back so that people could contribute relief material. "Students from other universities also contributed in our collection drive," Mukesh Kaushik, President of IIMC's alumni association, said.

The IIMC students and alumni association had collected all sorts of relief materials including bottled drinking water, canned food, blankets, medicines, tents, life jackets, first-aid kits, clothes and utensils among others.
