One Government Higher Secondary School near Khanai in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu held a reunion recently. Ex-students of the school met after 20 years and shared their old memories. They also gifted a microphone system and a water purifier worth Rs 45,000 to the school. The reunion of former students and teachers of the batch of 2003-2004 was held with great joy. More than 50 former students and more than 20 former teachers attended the event and made it a grand success. The former students felt that they should do as much as they could for the school and thus made the donation. They also planted five Ashoka trees in the school premises after that.
One of the graduates donated blood in honour of the alumni meeting. Everyone also remembered the death of some students who had studied during 2003-2004. They shared their memories with friends and teachers about their behaviour, habits, friendship and pranks in their school days. Thanks to the teachers’ guidance and interest in learning, everyone happily expressed that they had reached a higher level. Former students said, “As teachers, speakers, government employees of various departments, as farmers, we can never forget the school that gave birth to them and the teachers who accompanied them in life”.
One of the students shared, “School days are an unforgettable moment in the life of every person. School days are the foundation of life for many people. School days have given us many friends and many guidelines. Even after many years, it gives us untold joy to see friends who went to school with us and teachers who taught us”.
All those who attended the event enjoyed eating ’90s sweets like kamara kattu, weight stone candy, mom-dad candy and rope candy and expressed their joy. Lunch was also provided for the students and the event came to an end with a group photograph.
