New Delhi: Singing legend Asha Bhosle has promised a very special gift for 'Indian Idol 6' contestant Devendra Pal Singh. She has said she will attend the 17-year-old's wedding whenever it happens.
The mischievous Devendra was up to some antics in the second gala round of the popular singing reality show when judge Anu Malik and Salim Merchant began pulling his leg.
They teased him for being young and always opting to sing serious songs.
Show hosts Hussain Kuwajerwala and Mini Mathur added in the fun by saying that by the time he reaches a marriagble age, he will understand the meaning of the songs he sings.
It was at this point that Asha interrupted and said she will attend Devendra's wedding whenever it happens, said a source from the sets.
After hearing this, the youngster's happiness knew no bounds. The episode will be on air Saturday.
Darsheel reminds 'Jhalak...' judges of their 'pehla nasha'
Child actor Darsheel Safary took the audiences and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5' judges Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza back to their childhood days by performing to the romantic song 'Pehla nasha'.
Darsheel, along with his choreographer Avneet Kaur performed a lyrical hip-hop act to the love anthem.
Recreating the scene of a school-going boy's crush on a cute girl in class, Darsheel with his performance took the judges on a love-filled joyride where they were reminded of their first crush in school, said a source.
The judges loved the performances and awarded Darsheel with high scores in the episode to be aired on Colors Saturday.
Five celebrities to host 5th Gold Awards
Five small screen celebrities, including Mona Singh and Ali Asghar, will host the fifth edition of the Gold Awards, to be held here Saturday to recognise and celebrate excellence in Indian television.
Karan Wahi, Manish Paul and Nisha Rawal will also take the stage as anchors for the evening.
Karan will co-host the red carpet segment with Nisha, and they would welcome the Who's Who from the TV industry.
Manish is bound to keeps the audiences glued to their seats along with the poised Mona, who has hosted various shows over the years, and Ali is expected to be in his elements, pulling up gags on celebrities in the audience.
The event will be showcased on Zee TV at a later date.
