HYDERABAD: Arguments for and against a full-fledged CBI inquiry into the alleged ill-gotten wealth of YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy concluded in the High Court here on Friday.The day started with amicus curiae Subba Reddy informing the court that the gist of the complaint was that the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jagan “had devised certain means to receive illegal gratification from various persons/entities for official favours detrimental to public interest.”“Why else would people invest crores of rupees in these companies?” he asked. Senior counsel KTS Tulasi, appearing for Jagan, argued that the court was being used as an instrument for political vendetta and termed Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao’s move to send a letter to the court against Jagan as a command performance. Days later Rao was “rewarded with a Cabinet berth, he said.
